Tier-one CS returns to Romania for a studio LAN. ![]() PGL has announced the first round of matchups for PGL Bucharest 2025, a 16-team tournament set to go down April 6-13. The teams in attendance will play out a Swiss system group stage, with the top eight sides proceeding to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The event will run a dual-stream setup, with plenty of CS to be played across the group stage. The event will serve as an excellent chance for teams beyond the top four to grab some silverware, as Spirit, Vitality, Natus Vincere and MOUZ will not be in attendance. Teams like The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, FaZe and G2 will all fancy their chances amongst a slightly weaker field. The highlight matchup of the opening round is FaZe vs. Astralis, pitting together the two sides that contested the third place decider match at PGL Cluj-Napoca, in which Astralis came out on top after losing a barnburner multi-overtime opener on Mirage. FaZe have since had revenge, however, taking a comfortable 2-0 win during BLAST Open Lisbon. Also of note is the game between The MongolZ and 3DMAX, who developed an interesting rivalry over the back half of 2024 after 3DMAX triumphed over the Mongolians in the final of Skyesports Championship. The matchup has since turned in favour of The MongolZ, a sign of the squad's growing stature in recent times. A stream
